St. Louis, MO – Cable television giant Charter Communications plans to streamline its operations in a move that will cost some
workers their jobs. Charter officials say the specific number of job cuts will be
determined by the end of the year, but the company says the number will be significant. Charter plans to announce estimated saving from the streamlining
efforts when fourth-quarter earnings results are released in February. The company is based in St. Louis. Charter was on a buying spree for much of the previous two years, but hit hard times in 2002.
