St. Louis, MO – St. Louis County Executive Buzz Westfall says an arrangement will be made to share a hotel/motel tax revenue surplus between St. Louis city and county. Speaking to members of the hotel industry Thursday in Clayton, Westfall said neither he nor the county council can agree to send all of the surplus to the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission, which helps bring business to area hotels, and to downtown St. Louis tourist venues.
Westfall says the county would like to be able to use its share of the surplus to fund such county attractions as the Butterfly House and the Museum of Transportation.
