St. Louis, MO – The pool of design teams still eligible to participate in the Gateway Arch grounds competition has been narrowed to nine.
The effort was launched in December to find a landscape architect who can address the Arch's separation from downtown St. Louis and help attract more visitors to the riverfront landmark. The field of designers will be whittled down to four or five finalists in April with the winner announced in September.
Sponsors of the competition include the National Park Service and community leaders from Missouri and Illinois.
