St. Louis, MO – Today (Friday) is a day of mourning in both Missouri and Illinois for the victims of the Virginia Tech shootings.

Schools, churches and government buildings are also being encouraged to ring bells at eleven this morning. One of the 33 victims went to high school in Champaign, Ill.

Virginia's Governor on Thursday asked all the states' governors to declare Friday a day of mourning.

On Thursday, authorities responded to threats at two schools in Missouri.

A threatening note on a locker-room wall caused Community R-6 School in Laddonia to go into lockdown for much of the day.

Authorities say the letter had references to the Columbine school attack in Colorado in 1999, in which two students killed 12 fellow students and a teacher before killing themselves.

Audrain County sheriff's deputies and Highway Patrol troopers searched the building and the area, without finding anything.

In Cass County, a juvenile was taken into custody after making threats against the Sherwood School District.
