Lee's Summit, MO – Missouri will be the backdrop Thursday when President Bush promotes his new health care coverage plan.
Bush will hold a round-table discussion on health care with doctors and others at St. Luke's East hospital in the Kansas City suburb of Lee's Summit.
The plan Bush announced in his State of the Union address this week already faces resistance from the Democratic-controlled Congress.
Bush wants to tax employer-sponsored health plans and give tax breaks to people who want to buy insurance as individuals as a way to give more Americans access to health insurance.
Critics say the plan will tax millions of middle-class workers who now have good health care plans, forcing them to pay for those who don't have it.
