Jefferson City, MO – Governor Matt Blunt on Wednesday appointed a Montgomery County judge to sit on the Missouri Court of Appeals' Eastern District in St. Louis.
Roy Ricther has been a judge for more than a quarter century. He also once served as Montgomery County's prosecuting attorney.
He'll take the seat that was vacated when Judge Lawrence Crahan died in August. Richter says he's still a little dazed about the appointment but expects it will help to have some friends already on the appellate court.
Richter graduated from Drury College in Springfield and went to law school at the University of Missouri.
