Thousands expected to 'Dine Out for Life' today

By KWMU / AP

St. Louis, MO – Thousands of St. Louisans are expected to take part in an AIDS fund raiser today (Tuesday).

The annual 'Dine Out For Life' includes nearly 200 restaurants in the region. People who eat at those restaurants today will see at least 25% part of their bill donated to St. Louis Effort for AIDS. Some restaurants are offering to donate 100% of proceeds.

Organizers are predicting as many as 65,000 people in the St. Louis area could participate.

St. Louis Effort for AIDS is the area's oldest AIDS service organization, providing assistance to those with AIDS and educating against HIV infection. The group says there were more than 14,000 people were living with HIV or AIDS in Missouri last year.
