Jefferson City, MO – Missouri's Governor-elect Matt Blunt is considering canceling a project involving a company that has hired Tim Daniel.

Daniel resigned as the state's homeland security director this month and was soon after hired by Convergence Communications.

Convergence became a subcontractor on a project with the homeland security office while Daniel was chief. The computer-based project involves linking first responders during an emergency.

Both Daniel and the company deny any ethics violations. State workers are not allowed to influence an agency over which they had supervisory control for a year after they leave their state job.

Blunt says he might axe the deal because of a perception of a conflict of interest. The project has been on hold since Daniel left as Homeland Security Director.
