In Testimony, Wolfmeyer Denies Knowledge of Danton Plot

By AP/KWMU

East St. Louis, Ill. – Prosecutor Stephen Clark asked Katie Wolfmeyer if all the government's witnesses at her murder conspiracy trial have lied. She responded yes.

Wolfmeyer said Thursday that she did not know former St. Louis Blues player Mike Danton wanted someone killed. The 19-year-old took the stand in her own defense at her murder conspiracy trial in East St. Louis federal court.

The Florissant resident is accused of conspiring with Danton in his murder-for-hire plot to kill his agent. No one was injured. Danton pleaded guilty in July.

Wolfmeyer says she took an acquaintance, Justin Levi Jones, to Danton's apartment on the night in question to ensure that no one was there, and that it was safe for Danton to come home.
