St. Louis – Missouri Secretary of State Matt Blunt has sent a letter to St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay criticizing a proposal to allow early voting.
Blunt says state law doesn't allow people who won't be absent on election day to vote in advance. He says the law merely requires local officials to plan for such a possibility.
Slay says the law does allow early voting. He's asked for a state attorney general's opinion on the issue.
