St. Louis, MO – President Bush told a roomful of baseball Hall of Famers at the White House Wednesday that he'll be in St. Louis on Monday
"One of the traditions, of course, is for the president to throw out the opening pitch for baseball," Bush said. "I'm going to do so for the Cards."
The Cardinals open their season Monday afternoon against the Brewers. The game starts at 3:10, but the team says fans should arrive early to get through extra security. Everyone will have to go through a metal detector.
Fans will also have to deal with the construction zone near Busch Stadium that will one day be a new ballpark.
It will be President Bush's 21st visit to Missouri since taking office.
