At age 24, James Watson made a discovery that is many scientists' lifelong dream. He and British researcher Francis Crick found the so-called 'double helix' pattern that makes up the DNA molecule
Now, 50 years later, scientists stand on the brink of understanding the casue of treatment of many diseases because of that discovery.
While in St. Louis Wednesday, the Nobel Prize-winning Watson told KWMU's Kevin Lavery that he and Crick learned that DNA carriers information in a linear chemical code.
