East St. Louis, IL – A judge Tuesday upheld the East St. Louis election board's decision to bump Mayor Debra Powell and two City Council candidates from the February 25th primary ballot.
The three had asked a judge to reverse an election board decision because they say commissioners broke open meetings laws during a closed-door meeting. In that meeting, the board took the three off the ballot for technical errors committed while filing for candidacy.
