Spring Arboretum Trolley Tour
Join one of our Horticulturists for a two-hour trolley tour exploring Missouri’s first ArbNet Level III Accredited Arboretum. This tour will focus on what is currently blooming amongst Bellefontaine’s collection of about 10,000 trees and shrubs, representing nearly 600 distinct species, selections, and varieties.
What to expect in bloom:
early spring – daffodils, tulips, cherries, Magnolias, & more;mid to late spring – irises, azaleas, dogwoods, tulip trees, & more.Come learn more about what makes Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum an extraordinary horticultural and historical treasure of St. Louis! Trolley tour tickets are free with a suggested donation of $5 each. You may also make a donation at the event. Your donations allow us to cover trolley expenses. Proceeds support the Friends of Bellefontaine and benefit the Cemetery’s community support programs like Angels Rest, historic preservation, and educational tours.
This trolley tour is from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.♦ Seating is limited and tickets are required.♦ We ask that everyone arrive 15 minutes early for a prompt departure.♦ The Trolley is climate controlled but weather-appropriate clothing is suggested as opportunities to disembark from the vehicle are available.
In the months of September, October, and November, we offer a two-hour walking tour of the Cemetery and Arboretum as the foliage transitions through the rich colors of Autumn. This tour will be led by one of our Master Guides who will convey highlights of the grounds, horticulture and a variety of intriguing historical figures who call Bellefontaine Cemetery their last address.
Space is limited and reservations are required.
Tours will cover about 2 miles across moderate terrain. Please wear appropriate fall walking attire. Reservations in advance are required, so you must sign up online.Please arrive between 15 to 20 minutes before tour time for a prompt departure. This tour is free with a suggested donation of $5.

Summer Arboretum Trolley Tour
Join one of our Horticulturists for a two-hour trolley tour exploring Missouri’s first ArbNet Level III Accredited Arboretum. Join us this year for Unique Boutique at John Burroughs School, Saturday November 22 and Sunday, November 23 from 10am-4pm. This curated art and gift market is open to the community and features local and regional artisans working in a variety of mediums including ceramics, jewelry, metal, wood, photography, fiber and leather, painting, small-batch foods, and much more.
