Pianist Matthew Shipp to Perform at Dissonant Works Gallery
Pianist Matthew Shipp to Perform at Dissonant Works Gallery
Dissonant Works welcomes Matthew Shipp
A rare opportunity to encounter the artistry of one of contemporary music’s most visionary pianists. Matthew Shipp has reshaped the language of creative music, integrating tradition and experiment, lyricism and abstraction into an unmistakable voice.
The Small Room Sessions is a series dedicated to intimacy, presence, and the removal of boundaries between artist and audience. Shipp opens the series as its first performer, setting the tone for what will follow. In the listening room, every gesture resonates in shared space, an invitation to deep listening and shared connection.
At 1:00 pm, Matthew Shipp opens the day with a free community reading from Black Mystery School Pianists and Other Writings. That evening, he returns to the piano for two solo performances at 7 & 9 pm.
Don't miss this incredible opportunity. Seats are limited. Tickets to evening performances available through Eventbrite or visit www.dissonantworks.org
