Making a Difference Tomorrow Today

Creating an endowment fund is one of the most far-reaching things anyone can do for St. Louis Public Radio. Long after every donor, board member, and staff member is gone, the endowments will still provide annual payments and bear witness to the foresight and commitment of the donors. It is a way to make a significant difference tomorrow by doing something today.

Endowment funds are kept separate from St. Louis Public Radio’s operational funds. Only the interest is used each year to support the purposes of the endowment. Gifts of any size can be made to the Donald H. Driemeier Endowment or Classical Endowment to support continuing operations and local programming.

You can create an endowment with a minimum $10,000 gift, given as lump sum, or through a bequest or remainder of a life-income gift—like a charitable trust.

Donald H. Driemeier Endowment Fund

Dr. Donald Driemeier, formerly deputy to the Chancellor, UMSL, envisioned a need for a public radio station for the St. Louis community and through his many efforts has been a tireless champion of the station. Established in 1999, the Donald H. Driemeier Endowment provides support for continuing operations of St. Louis Public Radio | 90.7 KWMU to fund local programming.

Classical Music Endowment Fund

To ensure classical music can continue on public radio and be available for the next generation of future classical music fans, an anonymous long-time donor and classical music lover has made a $50,000 challenge gift to establish the Classical Music Endowment. Once their challenge is matched with $50,000 from other donors, they will add another $10,000 for a total endowment of $110,000. Your gift will help pay for 24-hour classical music programming on Classical 90.7 KWMU-3 and also support our live broadcasts of the St. Louis Symphony.
