St. Louis Public Radio is pleased to announce two new hires who will help us bring listeners and readers news that matters.
Veteran journalist Wayne Pratt joins St. Louis Public Radio June 23. Pratt replaces Julie Bierach as morning newscaster, following Bierach's departure to pursue a career change.
Pratt has more than 20 years of experience as a journalist on radio, online and for wire services. Pratt is the former news director of NPR member station WBAA AM/FM in West Lafayette, Ind., (Purdue University), and he currently serves as an editor, anchor and producer for InsideIndianaBusiness.com.
Another veteran journalist, Jim Howard, is joining the SLPR team on July 14 as our Washington correspondent.
Howard is a long-time newscaster and producer at NPR in Washington. He currently anchors the early newscasts on Morning Edition, and recently, you may have heard his stories on some of the controversies in the Department of Veterans Affairs. Howard also has deep roots in the Midwest. Earlier in his career, he was statehouse bureau chief for Illinois Public Radio where he directed news coverage of state government and politics for a 13-station network.
We expect to make additional hiring announcements soon.
