The National Weather Service says there were a total of nine tornadoes in the St. Louis region on Friday night.
A new report from the agency Thursday finds that two of the tornadoes were rated at EF3, meaning winds were between 136-165 miles per hour. One twister ripped through St. Charles County, north St. Louis County and ended in north St. Louis city, stretching more than 32 miles. The other EF3 tornado was on the ground for about ten miles near South Roxana, Illinois.
There were just two minor injuries reported as a result of the tornadoes Friday. But a number of structures were damaged, including the Hollywood Casino in Maryland Heights, the Spectrum Brands building in Earth City and several out buildings at Lambert Airport.
