Baseball bets are not usually something we cover much of here at St. Louis Public Radio (except when we make it to the World Series and make a chart of all the bets).
However, we thought we'd make an exception today to highlight something happening in the nation's capitol.
In the National League Division Series in which the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Washington Nationals, the mayors of the two home cities of the teams made a bet: the losing team's city would fly the winning city's flag at their city hall.
Today, Washington, D.C. Mayor Vince Gray made good on the bet, flying St. Louis' city flag on his city's flagpole:

Slay tweeted back at Gray acknowledging the sportsmanship of the D.C. fans:
Good sports in DC. I look forward to continuing the rivalry next season. RT @mayorvincegray: @mayorslay http://t.co/1IJWEpky
