Last year, we held a local podcasting panel to help bring new St. Louis podcasters into the fold. In the lead up to that event, we spoke with Adam Frick, the founder of Hugmonster Sound, about his podcasting network STL Vernacular.
Recently, Frick has turned his ears to a new project: podcasting for kids. He’s in the middle of a fundraising campaign to fund “Fablist,” a podcast featuring “audio fables for modern families.” The podcast will feature fables from a variety of world cultures. There’s no religious bent, but there is a focus on lessons/morals most people can agree on, Frick said.
“What I’m aiming for is cinematic audio stories: full music, full sound design,” Frick told St. Louis on the Air host Don Marsh. “There’s no narrator, no one teaching a lesson. You hit play and it is characters, sound design, music.”
On Thursday’s St. Louis on the Air we learned a little more about what that means and we got an update on the local podcasting scene:
St. Louis on the Air brings you the stories of St. Louis and the people who live, work and create in our region. St. Louis on the Air host Don Marsh and producers Mary Edwards, Alex Heuer and Kelly Moffitt give you the information you need to make informed decisions and stay in touch with our diverse and vibrant St. Louis region.
