The Hispanic community in the St. Louis region is expanding and for more than 30 years, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis has supported and promoted Hispanic owned businesses.
In 2009, the Chamber established a charitable arm, the HCC STL Foundation, which focuses on youth, workforce development and education. The Chamber’s Latino Leadership Institute (LLI) is a skills-based leadership training program for young Hispanic professionals.
The LLI celebrated the graduation of its second class of young leaders earlier this month.
Lydia Padilla, businesswoman and HCC STL Foundation Board President, joined host Don Marsh to talk about the Chamber’s work in promoting Hispanic businesses and training Hispanics in for-profit and not-for-profit management skills.
Antonio Lozano, a managing supervisor at Ameren and recent graduate of the Latino Leadership Institute, also joined Marsh to talk about what he gained from the program.
