ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis icon, the Admiral riverboat is being placed up for auction on Ebay.
The former riverboat, turned nightclub, turned casino has been vacant since the President Casino lost its license last summer.
Bill Kline is a consultant Gateway Marine Services. He said that the boat's current owners are open to any buyer, including selling the boat for scrap.
"I know that that's a hard thing," Kline said,"The Admiral is kind of an icon and that would be a sad way to go. But unfortunately the hull being in the condition it is and being as old as it is. It's just way past being able to meet any certification standard."
Las Vegas-based Pinnacle Entertainment sold the boat to St. Louis Marine LLC for an unspecified amount.
Kline could not specify a timetable for removing the vessel from the St. Louis riverfront.
A buy-it-now price on Ebay is listed at one point five million dollars.
