St. Louis – Preliminary numbers from the St. Louis Police Department show officers arrested fewer people and issued fewer tickets at Saturday's Mardi Gras celebration in Soulard than they did in 2009.
Ninety-nine arrests or citations were issued at the street party. That's down from 116 last year.
About half were for minors in possession of alcohol. Twelve people were caught with false identification. Police also towed seven vehicles and issued 35 parking tickets.
Last year, police issued 116 arrests or citations.
