MLB All-Star Game tickets cheaper this year

St. Louis, MO – With a faltering economy ticket prices for baseball's All-Star game in St. Louis will be cheaper this year.

The New Busch Stadium will be the site of the first All-Star game in St. Louis since 1966.

Tickets to the game will cost from $100 up to $360.

Tim Brosnan, Major League Baseball's Executive Vice President of Business says he still doesn't know how many tickets will be made available to the general public

"The answer to that is we won't know until the middle of May," said Brosnan, "when the St. Louis Cardinals season ticket holders who have the option of buying into the ballgame, until their receipts are due."

The July 14th game is only part a weeklong series of corporate-sponsored events.

Fans wanting to attend the 2009 All Star Game in St. Louis can register for an online ticket lottery starting Thursday.

The Cardinals 20,000 season-ticket holders will have first choice at the tickets, with the remaining being assigned by lottery through M-L-B.com

Cardinal's slugger Albert said he hopes to end the American League's 12-year winning streak for the "Midsummer Classic".

"You know I've been in seven all-star games, obviously this year if I can get the opportunity to represent the Cardinals it will be extra special in front of our fans," said Pujhols.

"Hopefully we can end that losing streak, the American League is killing us."

Tickets to the Home Run Derby and Futures game also will be less expensive.
