St. Louis – Henry Williams, the fired former-superintendent of the Riverview Gardens School District is scheduled to be sentenced in St. Louis County Court today (Monday, Jan. 5).
Williams pleaded no-contest in November to charges he transferred more than $100,000 of district money to his private account.
Co-Superintendent Natalie Thomas said since Williams' firing in 2007, the district has taken steps to clear up all financial irregularities.
"We had a recent external audit in which all of the previous concerns have been rectified," Thomas said. "We have worked with a business and financial consultant to develop a very tightly articulated set of business practices."
Williams faces up to 37 years in prison.
The state is seeking to recoup $102,000, which Williams is not prepared to pay.
