Florissant, MO – A man killed his ex-wife before committing suicide Wednesday at the Jamestown Mall in north St. Louis County.
The shooting happened around 12:45 p.m. near a sporting goods store. Shoppers were evacuated from the mall, but St. Louis County police spokeswoman Tracy Panus said nobody else appears to have been in danger.
"Both of them were deceased here at the scene," Panus said. "It stemmed from some kind of domestic incident. This is not some kind of random act, this is an isolated incident."
Authorities have not released the names of the victims. The shooter was 49 and the woman was 47. Both are from Hazelwood.
Police said the couple recently divorced after more than 20 years of marriage. The motive for the shooting was not immediately known.
