Eureka, MO – Six Flags Incorporated is selling nearly a quarter of its 30 North American theme parks, but the Eureka, Mo. site is not among them.
The theme-park operator has been struggling with falling attendance and a large debt load. It's selling seven parks for $312 million dollars.
The company says the sale is part of its strategy to reduce debt and enhance its operational and financial flexibility. Six Flags had total long-term debt of more than $2 billion of as last September, when it filed its most recent quarterly report.
Six Flags St. Louis annually draws hundreds of thousands of visitors.
