Sullivan, MO – A preliminary report is expected today (Monday) on the plane crash that killed six people this weekend in Sullivan Missouri.
Investigators Sunday said engine failure might have been responsible, but a final report is still at least six months off.
Eight passengers on the twin-engine plane were taking a sky diving trip Saturday when the airplane crashed shortly after take-off.
Among the victims is the pilot, Scott Cowan, 42,who owned the Quantum Leap Skydiving company along with his brother.
Also killed at the scene of the crash were Robert Cook, 22, of Rolla, Melissa Berridge, 38, of St. Louis and Robert Walsh, 44, of Webster Groves. Two others -- Victoria Delacroix, 22, of Dittmer and David Paternoster, 35, of Claycomo -- died at a hospital.
The final two passengers are still hospitalized. They are Steve Parrella, 46, of St. Louis, and Kimberly Ellen Dear, 21, of Dittmer.
The plane hit a tree on its way down and landed about 10 feet from a house. It also landed near a woman who was in a pool and who saw the plane silently gliding towards her, but no one on the ground was hurt.
