Jefferson City, MO – A Missouri House lawmaker from Springfield is jumping in the state Auditor's race.
Mark Wright announced his intentions over the weekend at a Republican event in his home town.
He's the third Republican to enter the race, along with fellow House member Jack Jackson, of Wildwood, and Senator John Loudon, of Ballwin.
Wright has served in the House since first being elected in 1998. He's not allow to seek re-election because of term limits.
Democratic incumbent Claire McCaskill is not seeking re-election as auditor because she is instead challenging Republican Jim Talent in the race for U.S. Senate.
Two Democrats already have entered the auditor's race - Buchanan County auditor Susan Montee and state Senator Maida Coleman of St. Louis.
