St. Louis, MO – All St. Louis area Congressmen voted early this morning to approve a new budget for the defense department, but not everyone was on board with another vote to reduce government spending by almost $40 billion over the next five years.
The defense budget includes a provision that would allow oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. It also includes money for hurricane relief and bird flu prevention.
The Senate now has to take up that and a number of other measures before members of that chamber can leave for the holidays.
