East St. Louis, Ill. – Former Blues player Michael Danton is asking a judge to reconsider his seven-and-a-half-year prison sentence for trying to have his agent killed.
Danton wants the reconsideration because he hasn't been transferred to a prison in his native Canada since being sentenced a year ago.
When Danton last July pleaded guilty to trying to hire a hit man to kill his agent, prosecutors agreed not to oppose Danton's deportation. But the Justice Department still hasn't decided whether to allow Danton to leave the country and he remains imprisoned in Fort Dix, New Jersey.
