Kirkwood, Mo. – The deputy mayor of Kirkwood faces drug charges after his arrest this week. Thomas Noonan has been on the City Council for seven years.
The Post-Dispatch reports a sting helped police find the painkiller oxycodone in Noonan's possession.
Noonan's attorney, Scott Rosenblum, says his client has "an unfortunate medical situation that needs to be treated," but he would not elaborate.
Noonan is a published author and speaker with a nationally recognized downtown St. Louis legal practice. He's also listed as the treasurer of Republican Moira Byrd's campaign for State House in next week's special election.
Noonan posted $10,000 bond Wednesday, the same day he was charged with attempted possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
