Columbia, MO – The mother of the late Aaron O'Neal is joining a lawsuit that her ex-husband first filed. Aaron O'Neal, 19, died during a Mizzou football workout in July. He was a star football player at Parkway North High School before going to Mizzou.

Deborah O'Neal last week joined the suit against campus athletic director Mike Alden, head coach Gary Pinkel, team medical director Rex Sharp and eleven trainers and coaches.

Her ex-husband Lonnie first filed suit in August. The reserve linebacker collapsed on Faurot Field about 45 minutes into the hourlong workout, and later died.

An attorney for the 14 university employees has asked the Boone County Circuit Court to dismiss the case.
