Edwardsville, ILL. – The president of Southern Illinois University says he'll retire next year.
That's when James Walker turns 65. He says he told the university when he took the job in 2000 that he'd only stay until that age.
Walker gave notice at an SIU Board of Trustees meeting Thursday in Edwardsville, saying he wants to give enough notice to allow enough time to find a successor.
