St. Louis, MO – St. Charles County's sheriff says there appears to be no connection between legs found this week near Springfield, Ill. and a torso found last year near Wright City, Mo.
Human legs were found along I-55 near Divernon earlier this week, appearing to be a potential lead in last year's discovery of a woman's torso near Wright City.
But St. Charles County Sheriff Kevin Harrison says the remains from the two bodies do not match because the points of dismemberment are different.
The woman's torso was found at a rest area off Interstate 70 near Wright City, west of St. Louis on June 28th. That victim's head, arms, and legs have never been found.
ATV riders found the legs about 15 miles south of Springfield on Tuesday.
