St. Louis, MO – A movie that was shot in St. Louis in 2003 will be premiered here next month.
"The Game of their Lives" tells the story of the U.S. Soccer team during the 1950 World Cup. The team included five players from the historically Italian neighborhood known as The Hill.
Several scenes were shot in St. Louis and more than 2,000 area residents served as extras.
Some tickets to the April 17th will be sold to the public. The rest of the seats will be invite-only. The screening will be at the Esquire Theatre, which is near the intersection of Clayton & Big Bend, in Clayton.
The scrappy underdog team didn't win the World Cup that year, but it pulled a startling victory over the English team when the two nations squared off in Brazil.
