St. Louis – St. Peters is playing temporary home to the country's best divers.
Trials that start Monday will determine who represents the U.S. in this summer's Olympic Games in Athens.
Doug Bray, with the St. Louis Sports Commission, says it's a chance to see the best of the best.
"Every diver here has been training their entire life for that shot at making the Olympics," Bray said. "So even if they aren't a gold medal winner, you can watch the Olympic Games from Athens this summer and say 'Hey, I saw that person at the Rec-Plex."
2000 Gold Medal diver Laura Wilkinson is among those competing at the St. Peters Rec-Plex, near I-70 and Route 370.
Diving made its first appearance as an Olympic event in the 1904 Games in St. Louis.
