St. Louis – Authorities have charged St. Louis Rams player Leonard Little with a felony count of driving while intoxicated. He's also charged with speeding, a misdemeanor.
Little was charged Monday as a persistent offender. He was arrested early Saturday morning in the St. Louis suburb of Ladue.
According to police, Little had bloodshot eyes, smelled of alcohol, and failed three sobriety tests.
In addition to the charges, the Rams' defensive end could face another suspension from the NFL.
Little was suspended without pay for the first half of the 1999 season after he pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
In that accident, which killed Susan Gutweiler, Little's blood alcohol was nearly twice the legal limit.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello says the case will be reviewed under the terms of the league's substance abuse policy.
