Missouri State Treasurer Nancy Farmer is officially launching her U.S. Senate campaign this week. The Democrat is hoping to unseat three-term Republican Senator Kit Bond.
Farmer was a State Representative from St. Louis, and also headed a nonprofit housing co-op in the city. She has been preparing her Senate bid for some time, but faces an uphill battle against the popular incumbent.
KWMU's Matt Sepic spoke with University of Missouri-St. Louis political science professor Terry Jones, who says Farmer has her share of political experience, but may have trouble gaining name recognition.
