St. Louis – St. Louis-based Bunge North America said Friday it expects to gain roughly $2 million, or two cents a share, on the sale of its U.S. bakery business.
The sale to Dawn Food Products in Jackson, Mich. was completed Wednesday.
Bunge last month said it had expected a gain of four cents a share.
White Plains-based Bunge Limited in New York is the world's leading oilseed processor. The company says selling the bakery business will allow Bunge to focus on its edible oils.
Bakery plants sold are in the mid-Missouri town of Mexico, along with Bradley, Illinois; Seattle; and Modesto and Tustin, California.
Research and development facilities in Seattle and St. Louis are also included.
