St. Louis, MO – The Post-Dispatch reports John Baricevic, the chairman of the St. Clair County Board, will not seek re-election next year.
Instead, he plans to run for circuit judge. Baricevic has been County Chair since 1990; he also currently chairs the East-West Gateway Coordinating Council, the planning organization for both sides of the river.
Baricevic announced his plans to party leaders Wednesday night. The opportunity to run for judge came arose when Judge Robert Hildebrand announced his retirement and his named temporary replacement, John Goodwin, told Baricevic he won't run to fill the seat permanently.
