St. Louis, Mo. – Former St. Louis priest and school counselor James Beine is sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Beine was convicted of sexual misconduct earlier this year. He was sentenced today in St. Louis Circuit Court.
Authorities say that while working as a school counselor, Beine exposed himself to boys in the bathroom at Patrick Henry Elementary School in St. Louis.
Meanwhile, Beine is already jailed for possession child pornography.
Beine was dismissed from the Roman Catholic priesthood in 1977 over allegations of sexual abuse. In the mid-1990s, the Archdiocese of St. Louis settled for $110,000 two lawsuits that alleged Beine sexually abused boys more than three decades earlier.
