St. Louis, MO – Missouri Governor Bob Holden was in St. Louis this morning to officially open the enrollment period for the Senior Prescription drug program.
The state's senior RX plan was first implemented in July. Holden says in the last five months the program has significantly helped the 26,000 seniors enrolled.
Holden says The seniors enrolled filled more than 200,000 prescriptions in that time period and that the program saved them more than $2.6 million. Holden calls that a great start but says he doesn't want to stop until all eligible seniors are enrolled.
Applications are available at local pharmacies, Area Agency on Aging offices, online and will be accepted until February 28th.
