Deadline near to request Mo. absentee ballot

By AP/St. Louis Public Radio

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri voters who want an absentee ballot mailed to them must submit their application by Wednesday.

To be sent an absentee ballot, voters must deliver a request to their county clerk or local election authority by 5 p.m. People can still vote in person by absentee ballot at their local election authority through Monday.

Missourians who want to vote by absentee ballots must cite a reason they cannot make it to the polls on the Election Day. Valid reasons include travel, illness and religious beliefs.

Local election authorities must receive completed absentee ballots by 7 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.
