Jefferson City, Mo. – Computer recycling will be the focus of Missouri's Hazardous Waste Commission meeting this week.
The commission plans to vote Thursday on plans for an electronics scrap management rule, one of the final steps before a proposed rule becomes effective.
The proposal says manufacturers who sell computers and accessories in Missouri must detail how those products will be recycled or reused. The collection method has to be convenient and free.
If the rule becomes effective, manufacturers would have until July to submit their plans for state approval.
