St. Louis – Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff will tour flood damage in Winfield Monday afternoon along with Missouri Governor Matt Blunt.
And as the Mississippi River continues to drop, emergency management officials have set up temporary offices to help people returning to damaged homes.
The state and Federal Emergency Management Agencies have Disaster Recovery Centers in four Missouri communities, including Clarksville and the Winfield-Foley area.
Susie Stonner with the State Emergency Management Agency said the centers' services include rental assistance for temporary homes, but there's more than just immediate aid.
"They have experts with the Small Business Administration, experts with the IRS and the Social Security Administration, experts who've lost everything may need to talk to one-on-one to begin their recovery.
Stonner said the disaster recovery centers will remain open as long as they're needed.
