St. Louis, MO – Drivers passing over the Chain of Rocks Canal Bridge on Interstate 270 may notice a few large pools of water near the canal's eastern bank.
They're not the flooded footprints of recent storms. In fact, they're part of a man-made effort to stop flooding.
A team led by the Army Corps of Engineers is building what's called a 'berm' designed to absorb water that's seeping underneath the nearby levee.
KWMUs Kevin Lavery visited the site to speak with Resident Engineer Larry Wernle about the project.
