St. Louis, MO – The Blues are for sale again.
That's because a group headed by former basketball executive Dave Checketts has withdrawn from negotiations to buy the team.
The Blues' current owners, Bill and Nancy Laurie, had signed an agreement giving Checketts' group exclusive rights to negotiate with the team for 30 days. That agreement recently expired.
Checketts is a former president of the NBA's Utah Jazz and New York Knicks.
The Lauries put the team on the market in June; they bought the club in 1999.
Checketts also ran Madison Square Garden in the late 90s. His group, Sports Capital Partners, has interests in Major League Soccer, College Sports Television Network and other media and live entertainment interests.
