St. Louis gains two more NCAA wrestling championships

St. Louis, MO – The NCAA announced on Thursday that St. Louis will be the site for the college wrestling championships in both 2008 and 2009.

Those championships were held at the Savvis Center this year and drew more than 95,000 fans. The '08 and '09 championships will also be at the Savvis Center.

The NCAA also said that Omaha will host the 2010 wrestling championship and Philadelphia will do so in 2011.

The University of Missouri will co-host the St. Louis events along with the St. Louis Sports Commission. The dates are March 20-22, 2008 and March 19-21, 2009.

St. Louis has hosted three previous Division One Wrestling Championships: 2000, 2004 and 2005. In 2000, St. Louis set the all-session attendance record of more than 96,000 fans.
