John Covelli, bandleader for Hard Bop Messengers, dreamed of doing this concert for years, juxtaposing the folk and rock melodies of Jones and Mitchell with the dynamic energy of his acoustic jazz quintet. However, while nurturing this concept for years, Covelli had to wait until he found just the right vocalist.
